ICON conducts studies in a variety of therapeutic areas and we have studies running throughout the year. Registered volunteers should follow these simple steps to take part in an ICON study:
1. Make sure you're a registered ICON Volunteer by completing our online application form first
2. Visit the study page and select the study that suits you, making sure that you're available for all the study dates before applying
3. Call our Volunteer Recruitment Team on freephone 0800 328 8000 or 0161 232 2700, quoting the study reference number and go through a series of questions to confirm you are suitable to take part in your chosen study. Answer these questions accurately and honestly as we request your medical history from your GP and also conduct a thorough screening to check you're a healthy volunteer. Getting this first part right can save a lot of time!
4. Once you've got a confirmed screening appointment, you'll be sent an email with all your chosen study information and clear instructions about all the restrictions you'll need to follow before coming for your appointment. For example, screening restrictions can be fasting for 8 hours, avoiding alcohol for 48 hours etc. it completely depends on the study requirements, so always check!
5. Once you pass your complete screening health check, your GP has sent your medical history and it's confirmed you are OK to take part in a clinical trial - then we'll call you to confirm your place on your chosen study
**We now pay up to £35 for you to attend a screening appointment (depending on where you live), but you'll only receive this payment if you follow all your screening restrictions before the appointment and you've answered all your initial questions accurately.**
